3 Daily Routines of Gold Tuna’s CEO for Business Growth

Missteps often stem from a lack of understanding.

This phrase has long served as a personal compass for me.

In the early days of building this business, I faced many trials simply because I did not know any better.

When I first opened the doors, I struggled even with the basics of team management. I encountered difficulties that led all the way to labor mediation. After weathering those storms, I completely reframed my approach to leadership.

Today, most of our team members have been with us for years.

They are no longer just employees; they are colleagues growing alongside me in a shared journey.

Lately, Goldtuna is often described as a "destination" restaurant.

It feels as though we are in a season of beautiful flowering. However, I find myself less focused on immediate results and more interested in becoming the kind of person for whom success is a natural consequence.

There are three pillars currently guiding my movement:

Depth, Breadth, and Velocity.

This is the direction in which my life and my work are flowing.

1. Depth: The Nature of Expertise

True expertise belongs to those who can define their craft and apply it with versatility. It is not merely about possessing knowledge, but about manifesting that knowledge in one's daily actions. That is the essence of being a professional.

Knowledge is something you accumulate, but wisdom comes from the ability to share it. When you have a personal story to tell, your words cease to be abstract concepts and become a living language. This is why when I speak of flavor, I wish to speak of life itself.

2. Breadth: The Expansion of Connection

Connection is a question of where your creation meets another soul. Food, service, and stories—all of these find their meaning at the intersection of a guest's needs and my values.

I prefer to permeate a space naturally rather than demanding attention. I want us to be remembered rather than merely noticed.

When I have something to convey, I try to speak less and show more through my presence.

3. Velocity: The Power of Execution

We no longer live in an era where we fail due to a lack of ability.

With AI and an abundance of tools, the only question that remains is whether you will actually do the work yourself.

A single post, a brief video, a word of praise for a colleague, or a heartfelt reply to a guest's review—when these actions accumulate, they become a ritual.

To think less and act more, even on just one thing each day—that is the velocity I strive to maintain.

And so, I ask myself daily:

Did I deepen my expertise today?

Did I truly connect with someone today?

Did I take one concrete action today?

I do not wish to be someone who simply chases success. I want to be someone who builds a foundation where success is inevitable. Above all, I want to serve a flavor so profound it moves the heart—a "flavor that brings tears."

Missteps are born of ignorance.

This realization has stayed with me for a long time. In business, being unaware often leads to many unnecessary hardships.

Early on, I lacked the wisdom to manage a team properly. I faced challenges that were entirely avoidable had I known better. Through those experiences, I evolved. Today, our kitchen is filled with long-term partners, not just staff—colleagues who grow alongside the restaurant.

Goldtuna is enjoying a beautiful prime right now, often called a "must-visit" spot.

But more than the results, I care about becoming the kind of person who naturally creates excellence.

Depth, Breadth, Velocity. These are the themes driving my life and work today.

1. Depth = Professionalism

True professionalism is the ability to define and apply one's craft. It is about more than knowing; it is about manifesting that truth in everyday life. Knowledge is gathered, but wisdom is found in the act of sharing. When I speak of taste, I am speaking of a life well-lived.

2. Breadth = Relationship Expansion

Connection is where my values meet a guest's needs. I prefer to let our hospitality sink in naturally rather than forcing it. I want us to be remembered through our actions, showing through presence what words often fail to capture.

3. Velocity = Execution

This is not an age where we fail for lack of tools or ability.

The question is simply whether you will do the work.

A post, a word of kindness, a response to a guest—these small acts build the routines of excellence.

Think less, and act on at least one thing every day. That is the velocity I live by.
