Every morning, as I open the doors to the restaurant, I find myself asking a single question.
Am I prepared to serve happiness today?
I want Goldtuna to be more than a simple restaurant; I want it to be a destination where joy is shared.
And I believe that happiness does not stem from mere kindness, but from a genuine affection for every person who walks through our doors.
One Sunday, while I was filling in at our Bangi branch, a family arrived with their elderly parents.
Families are my favorite guests to serve.
When I first opened this restaurant, I dreamed of creating a space where three generations could gather comfortably together.
Perhaps they felt that intention, because a warmth seemed to fill the air from the moment they stepped inside.
I guided them to a window table, mindful that traditional floor seating might be less convenient for the elders.
As the meal began, the daughter-in-law carefully placed a piece of tuna on the father's plate.
"Father, this part is the most tender," she said softly.
There was such deep respect, care, and quiet devotion in that simple gesture.
I watched them quietly, reflecting once more on the profound meaning a shared meal can hold.
At the end of the meal, the gentleman signaled to me and said, "Thank you for such a wonderful time."
His words warmed my heart instantly.
Knowing that our quiet efforts can touch someone’s life with gratitude makes everything we do worthwhile.
"I hope this meal remains a cherished memory for you for a long time."
As I said this, they thanked me several times more before departing.
Even after the door closed, a lingering warmth remained, enveloping the entire restaurant.
In that moment, I felt it again: "While I serve tuna, I am truly delivering something far more precious."
Some days, friends reunite here after ten years apart. Other days, a daughter brings her elderly father for a special treat.
There are teams celebrating a milestone, and guests marking another year of life.
I hope Goldtuna is always a place where time and heart intersect, rather than just a place to eat.
Every time I walk through these doors, I hold onto the belief that if just one piece of tuna can make someone’s day brighter, then my work is truly fulfilled.
Every morning, I open the door with a promise.
"Today, I am here to share happiness with my guests."
