To focus solely on the product is the mark of a beginner.
To focus on the story is the path of the intermediate.
To focus on the brand is the sign of a master.
And they say those who transcend the brand itself have reached the highest peak.
This thought has become my greatest focus for the year 2025.
How can I leave the story of Goldtuna in the hearts of our guests?
How can we expand the Goldtuna brand so that the very idea of fine tuna becomes synonymous with our name?
While it would be grand to transcend the brand and influence the entire industry, I know I am still a student finding my way toward that horizon.
As part of that journey, I recently enrolled in an advanced marketing program.
One particular sentence struck me deeply.
If you are not searchable, you do not exist.
From the Online Marketing MBA course by Professor Kim Young-gap
"If you are not searchable, you do not exist." This phrase is the key to this entire endeavor.
I, too, have poured my heart into our digital presence to ensure we can be found.
It is thanks to those efforts that Goldtuna stands where it is today.
Yet, looking back, there is a sense of regret.
The greatest disappointment is that I was not the true protagonist of my own story.
I entrusted our marketing to external agencies, mistaking neglect for delegation.
It felt as though I was handing over our lifeblood while hoping someone else would care for it as I would.
Beyond this lack of direction,
I realize I lacked the persistence needed to truly master the craft.
There is nothing as formidable as a person who refuses to give up.
Consistency and focus are more powerful than any raw talent.
Success is ultimately determined by attitude, not just ability.
I knew the importance of sharing our narrative through writing and video. Yet, I allowed laziness to take precedence over the quiet dedication required for the task.
If sincerity itself is a talent,
must I ask if I was born without it?
That would be a troubling thought.
Instead,
I will resolve to use whatever gifts I have been given to their fullest.
There is no other way forward.
I will keep rowing, with unwavering persistence.
Many predict that the coming year will bring a challenging environment for all.
A slowing economy impacting consumer spending,
Rising labor and ingredient costs,
The rapid evolution of dining culture,
Increased competition from both traditional and new business models,
The entry of professional planners into the culinary market,
And a growing polarization in where people choose to spend their time and resources.
The variables are many, and the path is narrow.
In these times, my strategy is simple.
I will live each day with the mindset of someone who is destined for success.
It is not about achieving a title, but about embodying the habits and values that naturally lead to excellence.
I have defined two primary goals for this year.
First: I will become a storyteller through writing.
Second: I will become a storyteller through video.
Writing allows me to organize my thoughts and align the direction of our restaurant.
I will share the stories of our guests, the small daily occurrences at the shop, personal reflections, and the journey of our staff.
These narratives are endless and rich.
Through these words, I hope to communicate the identity and soul of Goldtuna.
Then, there is video.
We live in a visual age where the moving image speaks most powerfully.
Just as I find myself drawn to video, our guests will find it to be a bridge into our world.
It is the stepping stone from a simple story to a lasting brand identity.
I will film, edit, and share without hesitation.
I have high expectations for this learning process.
I aim to bring our Sinsa branch to the same level of vibrancy as our main Bangi branch.
And I will ensure that the Bangi branch continues its journey of sustainable growth.
It is a goal that must be realized.

I am joined by 130 fellow business owners who will share this 12-week journey.
They have gathered from all corners—from the southern islands to the northern borders—each with a profound desire to learn and transform their business.
Being among them is a significant opportunity.
I will learn with diligence and cultivate a routine that defines a successful restaurateur.
The journey forward begins now.
Reflections on Goldtuna, hospitality in Sinsa, and the art of lifelong learning in the culinary world.
