On November 6, 2025, Goldtuna reached out to 2,152 individuals. Though contained in a small box of traditional sweets, it carried our quiet dedication, gratitude, and a desire to bridge hearts.
This is a story of a surprise for some, and a lingering warmth for others.
1. A desire to reach out
The year has passed so quickly.
When I look back, faces of gratitude and those I feel indebted to drift through my mind.
I wondered how to express those feelings.
"How can I convey this heart of mine?"
Not with grand words, but with a sincere heart. Not through calculation, but through devoted care.
2. The heart within the gift
I deliberated over what gift would be best.
I eventually settled on traditional puffed grain snacks—sweets that reveal the touch of a human hand.
Each grain is bound with syrup through careful labor, a process that mirrors the very philosophy of Goldtuna.
It is much like the 'devoted care' we feel whenever we serve a single piece of tuna.
It isn't flashy, yet it stays with you.
It isn't loud, yet it seeps in warmly.
“True food must be served with devoted care, gratitude, and the art of sincere service.”
This time, I have placed that sentiment inside a single box of sweets.
3. Sending 2,152 fragments of our heart
We sent 2,152 snack sets through a mobile gift service.
The total value amounted to 29,912,800 KRW.
It is not a small sum.
But inside those boxes were the faces of every guest who has visited us over the past twelve years.
Without them, the Goldtuna of today would not exist.
With that thought in mind,
I offered a quiet prayer as I pressed each 'Send Gift' button.
"May this heart reach them warmly."
4. An unexpected response
Many who received the message were quite startled.
"I think you sent this to the wrong person."
"I thought it was spam!"
"I've never received a gift like this before."
So, I sent a follow-up message.
'Hello, this is Yeon Choi, the owner of Goldtuna.
I am reaching out because the mobile gift might have looked like spam. I sent it as a token of my sincere gratitude for this past year.'
Only then did the relieved and warm replies come back.
"Is it real? Thank you. I’ll be sure to come see you before the year ends."
Those short lines were incredibly warm.
In the end, a relationship is this beautiful exchange of sincerity.
5. Moments where the heart outlasts the gift
The sweets were simple, but this time, they felt different.
The intention I sent with them was different.
This wasn't about profit or promotion.
It was a gift that spoke for me, saying, "This is how much I value you."
Relationships that bond like sweet syrup,
and linger as deep as a rich grain.
That is the connection Goldtuna wishes to share with our guests.
To the precious guests who have made Goldtuna what it is today...
may you enjoy this in good health.
