Jamsil Gold Tuna: A Special June 25th Military Reunion Tradition

On the evening of June 25, 2026, our Bangi branch welcomed a gathering of comrades bound by their years of service.

They shared that every year on this specific date, they make it a point to meet and share a glass together.

It was a scene of people who lived through the same era, remembering the same day, and finding their way back to one another.

A Place You Never Wish to Revisit, Yet Treasure Forever

Military service is a curious thing.

Having experienced it myself, I can honestly say it is not a place one wishes to return to.

It was cold, hot, exhausting, and a place where very little went according to one's own will.

Back then, the days felt endlessly long, and the date of discharge seemed a lifetime away.

And yet, as time flows by, those days crystallize into memories.

Meeting someone who endured those hardships alongside you inevitably brings a smile to your face.

Stories of the noodles eaten in the barracks, the grueling training, the dynamics between seniors and juniors, and the absurd mistakes of youth fill the air.

The difficulty of the memory does not vanish.

Rather, because the people who moved through that time with you remain, even the hardship eventually softens into nostalgia.

Our signature host greets the guests with a salute before demonstrating the 'raspberry nectar toast.' This shared joy is why we smile.

A Gathering Where Shared Endurance Outweighs Age

The atmosphere brought by our guests today carried that very sentiment.

Looking at them, it was clear they were not of a generation that experienced military life lightly.

Yet, seated at the table, they all returned to being the seniors and juniors of those bygone years.

Our host did not let the moment pass quietly.

Upon hearing their stories, she matched the mood with a crisp military greeting.

Though the specific slogan escapes me, the room erupted in laughter at that moment.

The guests joined in, raising their hands in salute.

Courses of tuna were served, and glasses were filled with spirit and sincerity.

For Those Seeking a Gathering Place in Bangi-dong

Running a restaurant allows us to witness many types of gatherings.

A table like today’s feels slightly different.

There is a specific date, and a profound reason to reunite.

Relationships that reconvene every year on the same day leave a lasting impression on us.

This record serves as a reference for those looking for group dining venues in the Bangi and Songpa areas.

Our space is well-suited for long-standing associations, alumni reunions, or regular gatherings of mentors and colleagues.

With our 15-course tuna feast, there is ample time to converse and dine at a leisurely pace.

June 25th may be a date in a history book for some, or a reminder of youth in the service for others.

For these gentlemen, it was the day they asked after each other's lives year after year.

It is evenings like these that slowly build the history of Goldtuna.

"The tuna I had until now wasn't real tuna." A playful sentiment that makes us proud.
