Gold Tuna Bangi-dong: Seoul’s Top Choice for Japanese Tour Groups

On a Sunday in mid-July 2026, a group of Japanese travelers and their guide stepped into Goldtuna Bangi.

It was not a curated stop recommended by the agency. Instead, the guests had seen videos of our owner’s omakase service and specifically asked their guide to include a visit during their journey through Korea.

A quest for abundance

While tuna is a fundamental part of their own food culture, the guests shared that the opportunity to enjoy such a diverse and generous variety of cuts is rare even in Japan.

They sought us out for our reputation as a dedicated tuna house.

Throughout the evening, we bridged the gap in language with translation apps, sharing a quiet dialogue across the table.

“I have never experienced tuna of this quality before.”

To hear these words directly from someone who knows the fish so well was deeply moving.

A snapshot of the evening

As the meal came to an end, the guests asked to take a photograph to commemorate the occasion.

I was honored to join them for a single frame.

In the picture, the guests, their guide, and our staff all stand together with bright smiles and raised hands—a warm conclusion to a shared meal.

Notes from the Owner

It was truly impressive that guests from a country with such a deep-rooted tuna culture would adjust their itinerary to find a small restaurant in Jamsil.

It felt as though, for this one evening, our interpretation of food and hospitality offered a new and meaningful experience to our neighbors.

I hope they enjoyed the rest of their time in Korea and returned home with many beautiful memories.
