Gold Tuna Guide: Jumakase and the Famous Somaek Auntie Show

“What is Jumakase?”

This is a question we often receive from customers visiting the Goldtuna (골드참치) Bangi branch (방이점) for the first time.

Jumakase is not a food menu item. It is a service at the Goldtuna (골드참치) Bangi branch (방이점) where the hall manager, known as Somaek Imo (소맥이모), personally mixes the drinks ordered by customers right at their table.

In Korea, many customers visit after seeing videos of Jumakase. Recently, there has also been a steady stream of international travelers visiting Goldtuna (골드참치) to experience Jumakase while touring Korea.

What is Jumakase?

The service is performed in various ways depending on the alcohol ordered, including soju and beer. During the process of making and serving the drinks, guests often participate or record videos. Therefore, it is quite different from a typical beverage service where a finished drink is simply brought to the table.

During a Jumakase demonstration, many customers record videos as shown in the photo.

How do I use the Jumakase service?

The process is simple.

When making a reservation, just mention in advance that you “would like to do Jumakase.” You can also download a Jumakase coupon for the Goldtuna (골드참치) Bangi branch (방이점) from Naver Place before your visit.

Even if you haven't requested it in advance, you can ask Somaek Imo (소맥이모) directly at the restaurant. In most cases, we provide the service upon request on-site.

However, during busy times like dinner hours or when multiple tables request it at once, the service may be delayed.

Customers say it tastes like a creamy beer they've never experienced before.

How much does Jumakase cost?

There is no separate service fee for Jumakase itself.

You only pay for the alcohol you order.

The price of the alcohol does not increase just because you request Jumakase. It is the same price as the existing beverages sold at the restaurant.

In other words, you order the drinks, and Jumakase is provided as a complimentary service.

We mixed a refreshing glass for this guest as well.

Jumakase: Attracting not only Korean guests but also international visitors

It started as a small service at the tables of the Bangi branch (방이점).

Now, many domestic customers visit specifically because they know about Somaek Imo (소맥이모) and Jumakase. Actual customer reviews mention discovering Goldtuna (골드참치) because of Somaek Imo (소맥이모) and include accounts of their personal somaek (소맥) experiences.

There are also cases of international customers visiting.

In August 2026, a group traveling to Korea from Singapore visited the Goldtuna (골드참치) Bangi branch (방이점) to experience Jumakase.

We do not track the number of visitors by country separately. Therefore, rather than expressing international recognition with numbers, we document actual visit cases.

Goldtuna Bangi branch and Jumakase

Jumakase is operated at the Sinsa branch (신사점) as well as the Goldtuna (골드참치) Bangi branch (방이점).

However, most of the Jumakase content known online features Somaek Imo (소맥이모) from the Bangi branch (방이점). As videos and photos have spread mainly centered on the Bangi branch (방이점), the Jumakase at the Sinsa branch (신사점) is relatively less known.

Because of this, the "Imo" at the Sinsa branch (신사점) sometimes feels a bit left out, saying, “Only the Somaek Imo at the Bangi branch is famous.”

At both the Bangi branch (방이점) and Sinsa branch (신사점), you can enjoy Jumakase by requesting it in advance when booking or by telling a staff member on-site. However, service may be delayed during peak hours.

Branch Information

Goldtuna Bangi branch (골드참치 방이점)

This is the main branch of Goldtuna (골드참치) located in Jamsil (잠실) and Bangi-dong (방이동). The Somaek Imo (소맥이모) Jumakase introduced in this article is available at the Bangi branch (방이점).

Goldtuna Sinsa branch (골드참치 신사점)

This is a Goldtuna (골드참치) branch located near Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong (신사동). Centered around a 15-course meal, it is used for business dinners, dates, anniversaries, and small gatherings.
