Gold Tuna Bangi-dong: A 2026 Must-Visit for Taiwanese Foodies
In July 2026, a group of guests from Taiwan found their way to the Bangi branch of Goldtuna.
We did not learn the specific story of their journey or the nature of their gathering. However, as their meal drew to a close, they gathered at the counter to capture the moment in a photograph.
This visit is a quiet snapshot of a larger trend—the increasing number of Taiwanese travelers seeking the authentic flavors of Korea.
The Growing Connection with Taiwan
In 2025, approximately 1.89 million Taiwanese tourists visited Korea, making Taiwan the third-largest source of international visitors. The Korea Tourism Organization has set a goal to welcome 2.32 million Taiwanese guests in 2026.
This momentum has carried into the current year.
In the first quarter of 2026, 544,503 Taiwanese travelers arrived in Korea, marking a 37.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
The spirit of exploration is vibrant in Taiwan. In 2025, Taiwanese citizens made 18.94 million international trips, with Korea ranking as the third most popular destination after Japan and China.
A Journey That Reached Bangi-dong
For many visiting Seoul, the experience is no longer confined to famous landmarks like Myeong-dong or ancient palaces.
Travelers now seek out the residential and business hubs where locals live their lives. A journey through Seoul is becoming a blend of seeing the sights and tasting the daily rhythms of the city’s residents.
The guests from Taiwan chose to spend their evening at our specialty tuna restaurant in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu.
Bangi-dong is not a traditional tourist district. That international guests are finding their way here demonstrates how travel paths are expanding into the heart of the local community.
We do not know whether they found us through a search, a video, or a friend's recommendation. Rather than inventing a narrative, we simply treasure the fact that they arrived.
When Dining Becomes the Destination
In the past, international travel revolved around visiting fixed landmarks.
Today, food itself is the destination. Travelers research restaurants, watch videos, and plan their entire itineraries around where they will eat. They aren't just looking for a meal; they are seeking to experience the dining culture and atmosphere of a different culture.
With short flight times and frequent connections between Korea and Taiwan, repeated visits have become common. As travelers return, they are more likely to venture beyond the famous spots to discover neighborhood gems.
The photograph of our Taiwanese guests at the Bangi branch is a documented moment of this evolving journey.

※ Goldtuna operates in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, and Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu.
The Bangi Branch is a vibrant space favored for family gatherings, friends' reunions, and corporate dinners, often welcoming international guests. The atmosphere is kept bright and lively by our signature beverage curator.
The Sinsa Branch, located near Garosu-gil, is tailored for dates, anniversaries, and business meetings. It offers a calm environment focused on conversation, complemented by our personalized lettering service for special occasions.
Both branches provide a thoughtfully structured 15-course experience. Rather than serving tuna in isolation, we begin with porridge and salad, followed by tuna sashimi, sushi, grilled dishes, fried specialties, and a final meal and dessert, harmonizing culinary traditions.
